Natural Born Hunter?

So-we have 2 purebred Labrador Retrievers-who are theoretically bred to....hunt. In this house, not so much, but for others they are. Peyton and Brinkley will point their tails when they spot "something", love-and are excellent at swimming, both have a keen sense of smell & hearing, with great vision-being able to spot things a mile away! However, there are some "issues":
1. Brinkley DOES NOT listen....stubborn little poop. She thinks she's a human and so therefore is our equal right? lol-just kidding-she's not THAT bad, but close (and we love her to pieces anyways).
2. Peyton must be the only hunting dog on the planet that has a grocery list of allergies-all related to HUNTING! Take the following pictures for prime examples. All of which would cause our boy much pain & irritation:
FEATHERS=ALLERGIC
GRASS=ALLERGIC
COMFY "CEDAR" BED=ALLERGIC
Poor guy. Today I had to take him to the vet because he would wince when we pet his back, and then scratch ferociously-almost to the point of bleeding. He already has bad skin issues caused by his many allergies, and for which he has to take a daily steroid called Prednisone-but this was out of the norm, even for him. Come to find out-he's got yet ANOTHER skin problem. An infection "from the environment" that has caused a welt on his back. Luckily with some ointment, it will go away but we have to dope him up on 4 Benadryl a day (without using his steroids) to help him cope with the irritation. Just like with my other kids-I hate it when they aren't feeling 100% and wish there was something I could do to take away the ailment. Other than his medication and ointment-there is nothing. Just lots of extra loves. He's our first baby and bottom line-this just stinks! Get better soon Pey Pey, our sweet 95 lb. "non-hunter".
