Christmas Memories 2013

Crazy year....pulled together what I could with being sick with walking pneumonia for almost a week by this point.....oh well. Finally fell asleep on the couch and woke up in a panic to the kids staring at the tree at 3am. Of course Santa had already come & they wanted to start the opening process right then! I rushed them back into Emma's room by telling them that Santa hadn't left yet & the rule is they can't see him or he leaves nothing! ha ha. For peace of mind I stayed in there & slept between them. That worked until 7am. Not too shabby.

Auntie Hollie got the kids scooters for xmas! They LOOOOOOOVE them!

Twas the year of Star Wars for Bryce
and
Lego Friends for Emee

Mike & Em stayed up until midnight on Christmas building this together. :)
The next day, Emma continued on her architure quest...but that afternoon, her cousin Natalie joined her for a couple hours!

 Cute girls.

Hollie got a new personalized zip up jacket straight from England.

 It looked great!

I had a new jacket & polo made for Mike with his school logos embroidered on them. They look great too!

Christmas Tree Hunting

Ashley & Tyler invited us to follow them along for some Christmas Tree hunting this year. It was our first time so it was fun to go along with friends. Hopefully we can make it an annual thing-it was so much fun. It was beautiful drive out to Teanaway-hot cocoa in hand, not a complaint out of anyone. Great day for making memories together!

up the mountain we went....higher and higher and higher...

 The Crankovich's found their tree!

Ashley spotted the perfect tree for us...almost in true GRISWOLD fashion-right in the middle of a clearing. All on it's lonesome. It is PERFECT!

Got it home-cut off the tree tag & set it up.

There she is. Largest & freshest christmas tree we have ever had. And it cost a whole $5! What a steal. With a fun family adventure to boot!

I think the artificial tree is in the garbage this year. We are kinda diggin our new found tradition.
