Come on Kitsap! Get it together....

We have a friend who works for the Kitsap Sun & he emails me headlines every now & then. Check out the recent doozies (meaning the last 2 weeks):

  • submariner found dead in quarters
  • mother found dead in Port Orchard home identified
  • man dies in Poulsbo shooting
  • Student shot at Armin Jahr Elementary School in Bremerton
  • Bremerton police speak to "person of interest" but make no arrest (for 2 murders & 1 attempted murder in Bremerton-all connected-none of the victims knew the attacker: one in May, one in June and one this Feb)
  • Reward offered for Bremerton killer
  • Person of interest in Bremerton crimes lacks some qualities typical of serial killers
  • Sex offender moves to NE 30th Street in East Bremerton
  • Sex offender mover to Sheridan Road
  • toddler found in SK home with dead mother
and though it didn't make the papers-all the numerous car jackings-including one from the CKHS PARKING LOT & also our niece Sam's Honda Accord that was literally TOWED from her parking spot at their apartment, stripped (and I mean STRIPPED) and then dumped on Mike's parents street. Odd coincidence???? I don't think so. S-C-A-R-Y!!!!

Come on now! No thanks to living on the Westside. Ellensburg is perfect for my little family thank you.
Our Police Blotter for this month:

Feb. 20-21 blotter: dogs in the garbage, rockets and stolen snowboards

Lol. Really right now? What's so "terrible" about living in Ellensburg again?

Paradise: The Last Few Days :Aqua Cycles, Celeb spotting & Flamingos

Carson comes out to Paddle board & swim!

a little sunbathing and chippie munchin'...I just LOVE those sand covered footsies he's sportin'

A Hawaiian SAND turtle!

If you can't stay in Hawaii-next best thing....collect Hawaii & take it with YOU! :)

Of course B wanted his OWN bottle of sand-so he made himself one!

The Aulani wedding chapel

A couple TUCKERED out pumpkins. Taking a short rest (short being the key term), before closing down the swimming pool!

I fell in love with these pictures in our room. Wanted to take them home, but thought-I better not....so I photographed them instead.

Lots of Hawaiian Alohas packed up for home

Bryce sporting his new STITCH jibbit that Dadda & I picked out for him while in Honolulu one night.

On a stroll around the Hilton Hawaiian Village we found....Flamingos

Wedding chapel ....BEAUTIFUL!!!!

awesome HUMONGOSAURUS tiki guy

and this little tidbit of info:
So.....I have been in love with Elvis since I went to Graceland in the summer after 5th grade. Blue Hawaii-one of my top 3 fav. Elvis movies....anywhoooo-come to find out, it was filmed mostly in O'ahu AND right on the beach where we were staying & the grounds on which the Hilton Hawaiian Village now stands (the hotel directly next to the Hale Koa). That was exciting for me-stupid, I know, but it was :) It's the little things in life people!

Aqua Cycles on Waikiki-not as easy as it looks when it is WINDY! You peddle and peddle and remain absolutely stationary. Unless you are smarter than me and figure that out BEFORE you are about to roll over and die :) Still-fun memories. The kids LOVED the "green motorcycle that goes in water" :)

Paradise: Day 4-Farmers Market, Paddle Boards & Disney lagoons

On our way out for the day-in the lobby of the Hale Koa

stunning flowers at the local farmers market

Emee picked out a fresh jicama to snack on

yes please-a whole garden FULL!

At Hickam Harbor for some paddle boarding & kyaking!

THIS is why Em wanted to learn to Paddle Board so badly....Kanani can do it-didn't you know? :) She came-decked out in her Paddle Boarding gear to support Em on the sidelines :)

I am STILL amazed at how GORGEOUS this water is....

Technically-you are supposed to stand & paddle, but it was too windy that day for such a little munchkin to do that without getting hurt in the process :) so kneeling it was!

Next stop: Ko'Olina to check out the new Disney resort there. It didn't disappoint. Nothing short of ABSOLUTEY AMAZING! In true Disney fashion-they didn't miss a detail and kept it all in TRUE Aloha spirit/tradition.

There was a HUGE Shamu type aquarium filled with all the tropical fish from NEMO. The kids could jump in and snorkel through-while the parents watched from the viewing cavern! So Disney to come up with something like that!

Goofy was swimming in the pool with the kids...

The kids were OOBER excited to get to hug Stitch! They've never met him before!

Like a postcard- isn't it?

It was a very placid lagoon-the kids were able to "swim" around on their own by holding onto their  boogie boards. Beautiful tropical fish swimming about with you-easy for kids to snorkel in, etc. Like I said-AMAZING! There were even whales off in the distance (on the other side of the reef) that were splashing their tails about. NO JOKE! It was incredible-just swimming in the lagoon-while whale watching.....bliss :)

We had such a fantastic afternoon-we knew we'd have to come back for more before our trip ended.
