Easter 2013

Our Easter bunny day was wonderful. It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day outside to boot!
The kids woke up to a trail of carrots leading to their baskets. They figured E.B. (Easter Bunny) had been naughty and taken them out of the fridge & strewn them around the house while we were sleeping. ;) Emma even found piles of rabbit poop (jelly beans) on her bedroom floor.
At the end of the trail of veggies, they found new jammies from Grandma & Papa, a game from Auntie Ashley & Jordan as well as other various easter themed sweets and trinkets.

Bryce was thrilled to find "bunny spotting binoculars"

Emma was excited about bunny tail cheese puff balls.

Happy little dude got a PEZ Wii dispenser! Double Whammy for him!
Yes, she is eating chocolate at 6:30 am. Nothing better than a Cadbury bunny for breakie!
Emma squealed...ok-literally freaked out-when she found E.B. with another "accident" in the bathroom. Brother of course came running to see what the ruckus was about & decided on eating one of the purple jelly beans as he stood there contemplating this dilemma. Thats when Em AND Mom FREAKED OUT!
K: "Bryce! Yucky! Don't eat those. That's gross!"
B: (with a mouthful) "Moooooommmm. Don't wowy. It's not weal poop! It's just jelly beans!"
K: "Ummmmm-NOT the part I was worried about...."
After a little chat, he vowed not to do that again. SICK SICK SICK

Next on the docket was our annual excursion to Breakfast with E.B. at Suncadia. I couldn't find an Easter dress that I was thrilled with this year, so I made Em's instead. After a couple tutorials & tips from Mikes mom, it was done & I LOOOOOOVE how it turned out. So does she. She's mentioned it about 27 times :) Love that gratitude.
Thanks to Nana for always purchasing the kids holiday outfits.
This year one of the kids' friends, Brynlee, came with us. She LOVED it!

The kids were READY READY READY for the egg hunt.

Seriously, how cute are these 2????

Our typical shot by the fireplace in the lodge.

Easter brunch is EmmaLee's MOST FAVORITE part of Easter. She counts down the days to this event. Not joking. They serve all her favorite things-whats not to love?

Of course our house guest this week couldn't be left at home, so he joined in at the table.

Such good manners with her napkin on her lap. Proud parent moment ;)

Awwwww.....this kid melts my heart. Love his sweet cheeks.

We actually got a bunny picture I can live with!

We dropped Brynlee back at home & there was a family egg hunt waiting for the kids back home.
This was the hidden basket of goodies this year. Filled with activities from Nana, Mom & Dad.

Ready....set.........GO!

Oh man! E.B. pooped on the porch too!???
They found the hidden basket.

Yay! Thanks Nana! A new Skylander & book from his favorite movie "Despicable Me". We've already read it 14 times. In a slight Russian accent of course ;)
EmmaLee continued to hunt eggs and discovered some high in the tree. She enlisted her brothers help & he was all too eager to assist since it involved climbing a tree (IN HIS EASTER CLOTHES!!!! GAH!!!!)

Typical Bryce.....Boys Will Be Boys? No kidding.

Mom wasn't happy about the climbing in the dress clothes so Dadda pitched in.

*Found these Lego friends packs at Targets Easter section for $2 each! A serious deal and EmmaLee was THRILLED!!!!!
She found her Disney $ in the golden egg.

Nana got her the Monster High doll that she'd been wanting for months. HORRID but....

Look-Bunnies instead of Bears.
The kids have their day planned out tomorrow....Easter pasta for breakfast AFTER they use their new planting kits to plant magic beanstalks & watermelon. Notice the planting is to be done BEFORE breakfast!? What the heck....um-NO!

Aunt Shannon & Kirsten came over for dinner (like every Easter) and they brought little gifts for Em & B. Bryce couldn't have been more thrilled with his very first marshmallow shooter, and Em was eager to use her new friendship bracelet making kit with Kirsten while we waited for dinner to finish.

Dinner was super yummy. On the menu:
Grandma Carol's Glazed Carrots
Grandma Verna's Creamed Corn
Nana's Special Potatoes
Martone Rolls
Green Beans
Dr. Pepper Pineapple Ham & Ham Sauce
Key Lime punch

and for dessert-the kids made:
a Carrot Cake Roll with Strawberry "Carrots" on the side.

It was a really wonderful day spent smiling & surrounded with "peeps" we love. :)
