Grandpa Allison's Caramel Corn

In honor of one of our favorite Veterans, Grandpa Allison, we made his famous Caramel Corn for family night snack this evening! One of our favorite fall traditions!
Dad's Chewy Caramel Corn
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup water
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1 Cup Light Corn Syrup
1/2 Cup Water
1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar
2 Sticks Margarine
Popcorn

1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Vanilla
Directions: Cook together until thermometer reaches 234-238.  Remove from heat and add baking soda & vanilla. Stir well and pour over popped corn. Mix well until all popcorn is covered. Enjoy! (P.S.-the best stuff is on the bottom of the bowl.....DRENCHED in chewy caramel goodness!)

And while the kids ate-I finished up a couple thanksgiving decorations-told you I needed to work on that....now I can check it off my list! Pretty cute signs-you can find your free printables (and some other cute Thanksgiving ideas) here:
