Emee's friend Ellie-who has been coming to play with Em since she was 18 months old-is moving to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2 weeks. :( Em is heartbroken. Today Mike found her sitting in her room crying. She told him that her heart was hurting because Ellie is going far away. This is the first friend that she has ever had move away. Sad. So tonight she had Ellie over for a sleepover!
Couldn't let just Em have a friend over so Bryce invited his best buddy Blake over too!
Our favorite Homemade Rootbeer recipe & Domino's Pizza were on the docket for the evening :)
Homemade Rootbeer
1 (3-oz) bottle root beer extract
4 lbs sugar
4 gallons water
Combine sugar, root beer extract and 1 gallon warm water in a 5 gallon tall cooler. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add 3 lb block dry ice; this will cause mixture to bubble; add 2 gallons water and have lid ready to put on container. DO NOT put it on tight.
Let bubble for a bout 1/2 hour and add rest of the water. Root beer will bubble about 2 hours. When bubbling has stopped, root beer is ready to drink. Put in gallon plastic jugs and cap. Will keep in refrigerator for some time.
I haven't yet determined if Blake is more excited to come over to play with Bryce or to dress up & play with all Bryce's "real soldier stuff". Blake wants to be a soldier SOOOOOO bad. He wore camoflauge almost EVERY day to school this past year. The days he didn't was because his mom said she had to hide it in order to WASH IT! lol :)
