Skippin' Rocks

One of our favorite things to do as a family is take the puppies to the river....it was a perfect morning for it today.
Even the kids stripped down and took a swim with the doggies today. It was perfect and the scenery was like a Bob Ross painting-we really do live in a beautiful valley. Mike even spotted a deer across the river-this was his attempt with my new lens....poor poobee-needs some practice I think (shhhhh :)
No amount of photoshop is going to help that. But the plus is-you know it's a deer! :) Happy Saturday.

Back to School Night

Crazy night....I'd just like Mr. "Murphy" to know that his "law"needs to take a flippin' hike! Why oh why does that always come into play when the kids are oober excited??? Oh well-on top of everything that "went wrong", we were supposed to watch Shrek in the backyard-and it got dark enough as soon as everyone went home :)...now we know better for next time I guess....whatever. I was trying to plan on earlier, to get kids home to bed at a decent time-dumb idea huh? grrrrr....ok-I'm over it.  :)

Sarah & Petri

So EmmaLee is IN LOVE with "The Land Before Time" (especially since we've been focusing so heavily on Dinosaurs around here-due to summer camp). Her favorites are Sarah the Triceratops, and Petri the Pterodactyl. A friend let us borrow a plethera of Imaginext Dinosaur toys and she has slept with these 2 particular dinos every night since. Today at camp she picked EVERYTHING "Sarah" and has had the time of her life! Yay for Ice Age camp & fun "dino" friends to spend her summer with!
(see...."Sarah" mask and Petri toy to play "Capture the Dino Baby)
Being chased by Ethan the "Allosaurus"-SCARY!
Dino Friends-Emee & Gwen
Diggin' for fossils in the "Boneyard"
FOUND IT!
Once again-everything SARAH....
Yummy fun snack brought by Kamryn-"Sand Cups" (like dirt cups but with Vanilla Pudding & Nila Wafers crumbs-the kids LOVED them!)

SO Pwitty!

These pictures speak for themselves about Emma's "makeup artist" skills....
What kids will do while Mom is chattin' outside and dad is pre-occupied with t.v!
Poor Peyton boy even ends up prey to her....good thing he loves her to pieces. Look what he goes through for her. Such a good giant puppy.

On an "actual" pretty note-this is one of the new dresses Grandma made for Em this summer-she is OBSESSED with this one in particular. Can't blame her-it is totally cute. She asks to wear this ONE dress every stinkin' day, and finally I asked her why THIS one and she said (in a "duh" voice) "MOM....it's my Tink dress my Grandma made for me!" Oh. Now I get it-that IS pretty special! Hugs to Grandma for the "special Tink dress". :) Especially lovin' the fabric!

T-Rex Mountains

EmmaLee had her turn to bring Tasty Tuesday snack to Summer Camp today-here's what she took: T-Rex Mountains! She had a great time giving each of the kids their edible "mountain", dino print napkin & "paleontologist" tools to excavate through their snack! These things were a HIT! Horray...mission accomplished.
we walked up to CWU and took fun pictures outside the Science building and in the Anthropology building....searched for "hidden" geodes in the grass and came home to CRACK them open!

Blowin' in the Wind

EmmaLee was so cute tonight-I had to write this memory down before I forget it. We took the kids to McDonalds for a fun dinner and to blow off some steam in the play structure. Oddly-Emma bypassed the toys and sat at one of the outdoor tables and stared at the huge american flag that was beautifully waving in the breeze. I asked "What cha' doin' sis?" and her reply was too cute....she looked at me, smiled and said "Look Momma-It's like my grandpa. Remember? He's my friend.....and my Grammie". Goes to show, she takes it all in, and has an incredible memory. She was remembering back to when she saw my dad on the ship in Everett back in April. Amazing. I am so glad she connects my dad with our flag-and I think he would be proud too.

They're a Little bit Country...

and a Little bit ROCK 'n' Roll!
