Bounce Central!

Finally! We have a place in town for the kids to play indoors! Courtney and Ayden joined us out at Bounce Central for lunch & playtime. She & I got to have girl talk while the kids literally bounced off the walls-without injury-for 4 hours solid! THAT is a rare moment in history.

Needless to say, this helped my night end like this...
Silence really IS Golden! :)

Everything I Do-I Do It For You

Last night Mike & I had a date night to Yakima for a small venue Bryan Adams concert-part of his Bare Bones Tour. Go ahead-make fun of me now, I don't care.....LOVE me some Bryan Adams.
In a conversation yesterday afternoon, I told Em that Mike & I were going on a date and she said she already knew. So I said, "Oh, well do you know what we are going to do for our date?" Her answer: "Yep-yous gonna kiss!"  Hmmmmm.....let's see-well on a normal date....yes, but it is a Bryan Adams concert for land sake so I told her "DEFINITELY!" ha ha ha-what else do you listen to hopelessly romantic songs for? Duh! :) Funny kid that EmmaLee. She told me that I like to kiss her Dadda because he is my love and one day she will get married to her love and they will kiss. Awwww.
Seriously though-Mike thoroughly enjoyed that it was all acoustic-you know he was even singing right along. lol  I of course was all about those gushy, mushy lyrics :) Win. Win.
I can't believe how young he looks! And his voice-nothing short of A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! He sounds like you would imagine him to if you took away the background music, and had him singing to just you as he rocked out on his guitar. Holy SMOKES! That raspy voice kills me....everytime.
He sang all the hits including my favorites: Please Forgive Me, and my all time fav-Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman. Good gracious that man knows how to write some beautiful lyrics!
Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?
To really love a woman
To understand her - you gotta know her deep inside
Hear every thought - see every dream
And give her wings - if she wants to fly
Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman then tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman then tell her that she's the one
'cause she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

To really love a woman
Let her hold you -
till you know how she needs to be touched
You've gotta breathe her - really taste her
Till you can feel her in your blood
And when you can see your unborn children in her eyes
You know you really love a woman

When you love a woman
then tell her that she's really wanted
When you love a woman then tell her that she's the one
'cause she needs somebody to tell her
that you'll always be together
So tell me have you ever really -
really really ever loved a woman?

You got to give her some faith - hold her tight
A little tenderness - you gotta treat her right
She will be there for you, takin' good care of you
Ya really gotta love your woman...

Then when you find yourself lyin' helpless in her arms
You know you really love a woman
When you love a woman you tell her
that she's really wanted
When you love a woman you tell her that she's the one
she needs somebody to tell her
that it's gonna last forever
So tell me have you ever really
- really really ever loved a woman?

Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman? You got to tell me
Just tell me have you ever really,
really, really, ever loved a woman?
It was awesome to be in such a small venue and listen to him unplugged. Felt very intimate-like Mike & I were getting a private concert. Needless to say-Bryan sang for 2 hours straight with like 2 sips of water! We blinked and it was over. :(
Great concert-Fantastic night out with my poobee.

SHOOT Me Now!

Came across these a month or so ago, and fell in LOVE instantly! I mean come on....Push Pops for mini cupcakes??? So stinkin' cute! Just gotta try them. So I ordered me a couple dozen of these so called "Cake Shooters" & stashed them away for a future party....who comes up with this stuff? I can't get enough of the creativity.

For The Love of Planets

This month at preschool we studied around the theme of "The Solar System". Em was oober excited about it! She had her body traced and then cut it all out....

thus creating "Astronaut EmmaLee"-which we hung from the ceiling to simulate floating in space! Not sure what's up with the big black eye??? :)

Did a little alien math...and ate yummy treats brought by our friends-Moon Brownies & Alien Slime Jello!

I created this emergent reader for the older kids...Em is OBSESSED with it-she and Bryce quiz each other on the names of the different constellations. Great-I'm dealing with astrology geeks now...

We sang Purple People Eater & learned to act out the poem 5 Little Spacemen.

Made tangram rockets too. At the end of it all, the kids were MORE THAN READY for our monthly field trip-this time, to the Pacific Science Center's Preschool Planetarium show in Seattle!

Field trip snacks packed-ready to go
anxious kiddies...

inside the planetarium-ready for the show to start! Dr. Jeff had the kids sing "Mr. Sun" to get the sun to rise on the ceiling, and made the kids howl at the moon like a coyote & helped them see a bunny rabbit in the moon! That show never disappoints! They really know what they are doing there! Em was literally over the moon for this trip. When the constellations appeared she was squealing "PEGASUS, HERCULES, DRACO!" It was hilarious.

Look! A PLANET!!!

Discovering other parts of the center-such as a boa constrictor touch exhibit....GROSS!

Bryce was more hesitant....can't blame him.

Em thought this lady was "Mama Oddie" from The Princess & the Frog. ha ha ha

Ask me if Bryce picked up this starfish & FLUNG it back in the water? Embarrassing? YES!

We spent an eternity in the gift shop-but finally left with some Mars Mud & a new children's book about astronauts!

Another fine trip to the emerald city!
