Pizza! Pizza! Family Night

Tonight I ran into Papa Murphys to grab a quick dinner. We haven't been there since Bryce was a baby-and apparently, we've been missing out because while there the kids & I found these:
Personal Kid Sized Pizza kits! SUPPPPPERRR cute! And they were only $3! What a perfect price for a dinner & evening activity all in one. Win. Win.

To say Em & B were excited is a complete understatement! I had barely parked the car at home when they jumped out and RAN inside throwing on their "chef" gear. Bryce even set up his little white table in the kitchen for it. Cute kid. He LOVES to help in the kitchen.

Of course, Emma got everything all organized for the both of them. And Bryce then copied everything his sister did. :)

There was a little (Translation: A LOT!) of taste testing along the way of course...

Dad assisted the kids with carefully placing their pie in the preheated oven, and it was on to eating spoonfuls of cookie dough! (Another Papa Murphy's fav that we haven't had for years!) SOOOOO good!

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock
A short 8 mins later-their perfect pizzas were ready. AND....they ate
every.
last.
bite!

What a fun idea for a party???? The kits even came with "prize" tattoos! Seriously. For THREE BUCKS? Can't beat that!

My Little SUNSHINE.

Bryce's new thing for the past month or so has been asking me to sing his "when I was a baby" songs to him before bed.
Melt my heart. How can I refuse? So a few rounds of "You are my Sunshine" and "This Little Light of Mine" later, he is out cold. The other day I caught him in bed reading his "Little Light" book & singing the song to himself. Literally brought tears to my eyes & a lump in my throat. Goodness gracious-I love this precious boy and his sweet little voice.
He said I could video it for his grandparents-which was a shocker. He is VERY shy. So here it is!

Easter Sabbath

We joined our friends the Weber's for an Easter Sunday meal & favorite friends/family togetherness time.... (Sorry for the blurry picts. I was clearly having camera issues)

It was a BEAUTIFUL 78 degrees out. So we did Ham steaks & Pineapple on the grill, asparagus & fresh fruit....it was lovely.
For dessert, the kids made these "Resurrection Rolls".
First, start off with a jumbo marshmallow...this represents Jesus' physical body after his death.

Dip the marshmallow in melted butter...this represents the oils they anointed his body with.

Then roll the marshmallow in a cinnamon sugar mixture...this represents the spices that they rubbed on
his body before wrapping it in burial clothes.

Lay the marshmallow on a crescent roll triangle...this represents the tomb where Jesus was buried.

Roll it up...

Totally cover the "body" & Seal the "tomb" real tight...
Put in a 350 degree oven and bake for about 12 minutes.
Here is the tomb where Jesus was laid...

Open the tomb to reveal that He is no longer there! (The kids LOVED it!)

HE IS RISEN!
Happy Easter 2013
