One Last Spin

Well-we did it. In a little over 1 week of being on Craigslist-we sold our beloved camper :( Sniff...tear.
The decision to sell it came because of our up in the air job situation. Chances are high that we will be moving within the next year (2 at the most) and we don't want to haul the camper with us on a big move. So we posted it to see if we'd get any nibbles.
We did.
A LOT of them in fact.
Not surprising. The thing is in excellent condition & fairly new!

I am still sad to see it go. It feels like we are selling our home (which will be another major tear jerker for me when the time comes). There are our family picts on the wall, and the cubbies that each of the kids picked out for their toys on day 1 ...sniff...sniff.

Still-it was a wise choice. If we were to move, it would be during camping season, and who knows what could have happened. We didn't want to chance it. Still, I thought we'd have it around a little longer.

That being said, I told Mike to stall the buyer so we could go out in it for one last family trip before we watched it drive off with someone else.

Last night we took a trip to Wanapum State Park on the Columbia Gorge & made a few final memories with some dear friends. An hour ago we handed over the keys & title. There may or may not have been some tears shed by myself in the wee hours of this morning just thinking about it. I can't recall. We really had a fantastic time.

We spent a good 1.5 hours chatting to the family and somewhere in there, showing them the in's & out's of the trailer. They were so like us in many ways & the wife was telling me how excited she was to put vinyl lettering on the walls. So funny-because that was the FIRST thing I did when we brought it home. :)
I'm so glad the camper is going to a lovely family who will enjoy it like we did, I have no doubt. Their kids were already staking claim of which bed & cubby would be theirs.
On the upside-we are probably going down in history as one of the few people on the planet to actually MAKE a bunch of money on a camper sale! Slightly unheard of in the realm of travel trailers. Due to the phenomenal deal we got when we purchased it, we were able to turn around and still give the buyer a good deal too, all the while leaving us ahead.
WIN.
WIN.
