For my birthday my favorite guy scoured the globe for tickets to the sold out show "Jersey Boys"-the story of Frankie Valli. I was OVER THE MOON excited to go-but kept it together :) Frankie Valli is one of my all time favs!!!! I mean come on, who doesn't love a good 4 Seasons doo-wop tune? The kids had a great night with Aunt Marcy, Uncle John & their cousins...while Mike & I took the max line to downtown Portland. Across from the auditorium was this fountain park. I was shocked to see all these people full on swimming in it-especially considering the MANY MANY postings to not "wade" in the fountains. lol. These people were in all kinds of attire-some swimsuits, some fully dressed in clothes, didn't matter-they were waist deep in the recycled water....ewwwww. Looks crazy dangerous for kids too. To each their own I guess.
I thought this was a humorous sign. The folks seated next to us were wearing BYU shirts-needless to say-they missed this sign...and the obvious "JERSEY" flavor of the show. ha ha ha. Enough said about that. We LOOOOOOVED it! LOVED it. First thing I said to Mike was "Your Dad would TOTALLY enjoy this show" and "My sisters HAVE GOT to see this!" So hopefully we can at least get Papa to come with us next time. Mike looked up their next Seattle tour dates before we even left the building & called his Dad :) Needless to say, will be going again this upcoming April! Well worth it. Mike and I have been attending Broadway shows together for 15 years. It's a favorite past time.
The next day we all went to watch Maddy graduate from Safety Town (which Em desperately wanted to be a part of-can't blame her-it did look like fun) and then Aunt Marcy treated everyone to a trip to "John's Incredible Pizza". There was a huge buffet selection for lunch & multiple themed dining rooms-we picked the Outer Space themed room.
Not only was there lunch-there was amusements too! It was like Vegas for Kids. Seriously. Aunt Marcy got each of the kids a 2 hour unlimited ride pass & they sure used up all 120 mins go go going! Everyone had a great time-including Mike. It totally took him back to his childhood to play games like Terminator, etc. He loved it as much as the kids did. lol
Bryce was often found back on the motorcycle race ride. He probably rode it 17 times....literally-I eventually lost count. He just kept swiping his card to play again-use it like its free Bryce....use it like it's free dude.
Bryce was SOOOOO disappointed that he was not tall enough to ride the bumper cars. Marcy & I discussed thick soled shoes for him & the upcoming Disneyland trip ;)
See-back on the Motorcycles....
This was one of my favorite arcades as a child....Bryce cleaned house with it-Em, not so much. It was kind of humorous how slow she was.
Aunt Marcy really spoiled them. :)
I even got in on the fun. Douglas tried to play it cool but he was full of smiles too once this ride/game got going :)
One of Em's favorite games is Air Hockey...she can spot one of these tables a mile away. Look out Pac Beach participants ;)
Thanks Aunt Marcy for a GREAT weekend & for spoiling the kids ROTTEN :)
