So ok-the birdhouses turned out a little....different, crooked walls, the perch somehow ended on the inside, you know-things like that....but hey-we were going for the whimsical/Alice in Wonderland look! Jealous of our carpentry skills aren't ya? :)
whoops-better take that nail out!
After the great building project, the kids got to go have treats and meet Santa. Em had no hesitation. She was PUMPED to tell him that she wanted a (and I quote) "Barbie car that goes vroom-vroom". He said he'd work on it & gave me a look, to which I responded with a wink. lol
Bryce on the other hand, was NOT about the whole Santa business (as is typical). He's been talking for weeks about asking Santa for a "Cha chow" car-then his moment came & he froze. Dad walked up with him & he hesitantly sat on the big guys lap-I told him about what Bryce has been dying to ask him for, and Santa asked him if that's what he'd like for Christmas....at that point Bryce looked at him and gave a huge smile (which of course I missed with the camera-sorry, it's kinda hard to juggle the "mom" thing AND be the photographer simultaneously).
Both kidlets had a blast & came home eager to place their birdhouses in the tree....no food & all! Not that the bird would be able to get it out anyways :) Good times...good times.
I love when the trees look like this! Had to take a picture of it....and in that tree-there was a-
BIRDHOUSE! :)
What a funny thing for the hardware store to do. I think the birdhouses are BEAUTIFUL!!
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling we'd be really good friends if we lived closer...coordinating outfits for the kids? Totally my style!
