In a nutshell-things have been quite stressful around here lately....lots going on & never enough time. The same complaint every mom in the universe has, I know. Well-today in particular I had A LOT to accomplish-and my munchkins really rose the occasion. I was extremely grateful.
So tonight Mike & I sat them down and told them that we had a Chit Chat with Mr. Goody (the Christmas Elf who has been living in various corners of our house, spying on the kids the past 17 days....).
We convinced them that the Elf had told Santa how pleased he was with how well they had been behaving and as a special treat, Santa himself had just dropped off a "Goody" for each of them and it was waiting by their bedroom doors!
The reaction: Em stared at us-her eyes as big as quarters-not sure whether what we just said was actually happening to her.....Bryce looked at us, then at his sister, then at us again. He was awaiting instructions from his big sis. However-since neither one of them moved from this state of shock & silence-we just stared back! :) Finally Emma said...."Like by MY room and BRYCEY'S room???? Right NOW????"
Um....."HELLO! YEEEEESSSS!"
It was like someone finally slapped them-they shot up like rockets and made a be-line for the hall, 1.4 seconds later we heard squeals of delight! They both grabbed the wrapped boxes as big as themselves and waddled as fast as their little feet could carry them to the living room.
It was a great night in the Martone house :) I love memories like these.
