We made Reindeer Food...
"Santa's Reindeer Food Bar"
complete with everything a reindeer could hope to feast on such as:
OATS
RAISINS
BREAD CRUMBS
SPARKLY RED GLITTER (so they can find the food easily-it will be glistening now!)
FLYING POWER-a DEFINITE must to keep up the energy for an entire night of aviation!
Plus a little something for a sweet tooth-COCOA!
For the little humans at the party-they got to consume Hot Cocoa & Mint Chocolate Chip cookies! They are Santa's FAVORITE you know!???
In the midst of it all-there was a knock at the door! Who could it be? All the friends had already arrived!???
It would seem that Santa was in a hurry to get out of town tonight and he left a few items in our neighborhood! The kids were MORE THAN HAPPY to find them for him! So jackets on and off we went to find Santa's treasures.
No sooner had we hit the pavement when the kids squealed "I SEE AN ELF! LOOOOOOKKKKKK!!!!!" They were E.L.A.T.E.D to say the least! He was a super quick little guy though because they never did catch him-I personally never even saw him, but the kids all told me (at the same time) that he jumped into a bush & disappeared! They figured Santa must have forgotten his Elf TOO! Yowzers! :)
Once all the items had been found-and the Elf spotted 1 or 2 more times....it was back to the house for Cookies & Cocoa. Magical Christmas memories made tonight-no doubt about that!
Once all the guests had gone home-and the party cleaned up, we set up for our Christmas Eve. The kids wrote their traditional letters to Santa, we read (part of) The Night Before Christmas & bundled up for a drive to look at Christmas lights around town.
The kids set out Milk & Cookies for Santa, and a special carrot for Rudolph-along with their letters of course...
Reindeer food set out on the porch for the other 8 reindeer....
And now visions of sugar plums dance in their heads-while I DREAM of a long winters nap.... :)
