LEGOLAND adventures

Legoland.....an interesting place. Not on my list of favs & not worth the full price we COULD gave paid, or even another trip, but it was ok to experience once. I would not go as far as saying you get your money's worth even. It has some kinks they need to iron out, such as age & size restrictions, sloooooooow as snot rides (barely exciting for the little ones) but the worst was wait times! There could be 10 people in line & you would wait over 45 minutes for a stupid kid ride that lasted less then 2 minutes-no joke! We were not impressed. We'll stick with just having more Disney days from now on! Disneyland owns our hearts :) here are some highlights from our day:

All the characters/animals are made of thousands of legos.

Waiting in another line......FOREVER!

This ride was so stupid. Seriously.....my kids thought it was going to be like autotopia at Disneyland-boy did they learn otherwise! Lol. First off, they both had to ride in the lowest level because of the age restrictions (3-5 years). Then there were only 6 cars going at once, at the speed of a freaking turtle!!! Even slower than the power wheels the kids have at home. It was kinda pathetic when they both asked if they could "be done now" halfway through.

The boat ride didn't get much better. I'm not kidding. Every ride was sloooooooow. Annoying.

Skipper Bryce was excited to drive a boat, but was over it quite quick when he realized we were going nowhere....and not fast. Lol

Pirate Land was by far the best spot for my kids. Duh-right? :) there was a pirate ship ride that you could use water cannons to shoot passers by.

Bryce was excited that they sold Lego Jack Sparrow merchandise. Nana even bought him a Lego Jack Sparrow shirt to save for his birthday party!

Best of all was the Duplos pirate splash pad.

Look out Em!

Playing "chubby wubby" with each other while waiting in line.

Lego pirate feast. All made with legos. Pretty cool.

Oh my holy heck! These things were the best part of the whole Legoland experience. Not kidding. Apple French fries rolled in cinnamon & sugar, with gobs of fresh whipped cream on the top. Freaking ridiculously delish!

I actually had to lie or B in order for him to ride this horse jousting ride. Stupid. It was required that you were 4 to ride. Really? My 4 year old could care less about it.

Apparently, my 3 year old could care less too. Not thrilling to ride when it is seriously slow. What else can I say? HUGE difference from Disney rides. HUGE!

This was a ride more like one at Disneyland. It was Lego Indiana Jones. It was like the kiddie Snow White ride, but with legos, and much slower paced (see the speed theme).....and get this-there was a HEIGHT restriction! B barely made it on! They even double checked his height before he got on! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME? All the needless restrictions got so old & really ruined the trip.

Look how thrilled they are. So glad I didn't pay for either one of them. Thank heaven for eBay & their coupons!

This is called mini land. It was miniature villages of places like:Vegas, New York, Washington DC, etc. All made out of legos of course. Pretty neat!

This was one of my fav's. New Orleans-which I would actually like to venture to at some point in my life. Just for the experience. A bucket list thing :)

Finally we had enough of the amusement park & headed into the waterpark portion of our visit. We had hopper tickets (thank goodness-the trip would have been a bust if not for this place!)

The kids collected up some giant legos (like the ones we have at preschool) and used them for the Build a Raft on the lazy river. This was Bryces most favorite part of the day. He and I rode it about 8 times. He went with me on a double tube the first go round, then asked for his own tube and for me to "not touch it"!
"I fine mom, I can do it myself!"

"see momma! I right here! I fine mom."

Relaxing while we wait for daredevil Em & nana to finish their 3 giant watersides & raft adventures!

Duplo Zoo Animal Splash Pad

Love us some GORGEOUS Carlsbad weather!

Starving!!!!! Thank goodness for peanut butter & ritz bits!

Emee summed it up best on the way home-
"Legoland...check!" yup. Check that one off the list. :)
The good thing-I gave my friend our tickets (& a few others we collected for her :) & all she has to do is pay $10 per ticket at the gate for a "second" day (their first day) shhhhhh :) Now she'll get to take her kids & family that is visiting from out of town for a much better price. Sweet. Her mom is going through chemotherapy and they could really use some smiles right now. Hopefully they have some fun family time with the tickets. It's worth the trip ONCE at that price! :)
